Tell me about something cool that happened to YOU! (Basic 4)

Standard

It’s difficult to talk about something cool, I mean, about just one thing. My life is full of cool, special moments. But let me tell you, guys, about the day I bought Delilah. It was about six years ago. Delilah is my dog. She’s a French Bulldog. When I saw her for the first time, she was only 3 months. She’s black. Well, I fell in love with her immediately. She was really cute! Delilah was jumping and running so happily when she saw me and Daniel (my son). We took her home by car. She was a well behaved girl that day and she didn’t cry much during the night. Soon, Delilah became part of the family! We just can’t imagine home without her.

If a dog were your teacher
These are some of the lessons you might learn…

When loved ones come home, always run to greet them
Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride
Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face
to be pure ecstasy

When it’s in your best interest
practice obedience
Let others know when they’ve invaded your territory
Take naps and stretch before rising
Run romp and play daily

Thrive on attention and let people touch you
Avoid biting, when a simple growl will do
On warm days stop to lie on your back on the grass
On hot days drink lots of water and lay under a shady tree
When you’re happy dance around and wag your entire body

No matter how often you’re scolded
don’t buy into the guilt thing and pout
run right back and make friends

Delight in the simple joy of a long walk
Eat with gusto and enthusiasm
Stop when you have had enough
Be loyal
Never pretend to be something you’re not

If what you want lies buried
dig until you find it
When someone is having a bad day
be silent …..
…sit close by.

…and nuzzle them gently.

THE LAST MOVIE I SAW (BASIC 4)

Standard

I went to the movies with my friend Karla last Saturday afternoon. We saw “Tropa de Elite 2”. We loved it! This movie is full of action! It is really amazing and exciting. It stared Wagner Moura as Colonel Nascimento, Irandhir Santos and others… People say the film is violent and as a matter of fact it is because it shows the fight of Nascimento against the militias. So, I don’t suggest to children, just adults, of course!

WRITING ABOUT A FAMOUS PERSON (TEENS 4)

Standard

HUGH JACKMAN is a famous actor. He was born in Sydney, Australia on October 12th, 1968. So, he is 42 years old right now. Jackman has won international recognition for his roles in major films, notably as action/superhero, period and romance characters. He is well known from his role as Wolverine in the X-Men series, in addition to his leads in Kate & Leopold, Van Helsing, The Prestige, and Australia. Do you know that Jackman is also a singer, dancer, and actor in stage musicals, and won a Tony Award for his role in The Boy from Oz?! Yeah! He’s great! In November 2008, Open Salon named Hugh Jackman one of the sexiest men alive. Later that same month, People magazine named Jackman “Sexiest Man Alive”. I totally agree Jackman is that cute and talented – that’s why I just love him! 😉

Ok, that’s your turn to write about a famous person you admire!

GOOD AND BAD HABITS (Teens 4)

Standard

I have some good habits: I usually go walking in the morning and I try to eat healthy food as fruit and vegetables. I love fish, too!  I don’t smoke because smoking is really bad for health. I also avoid junk food and sweets but I love chocolate, so I eat it just once in a while…  My bad habits??? Well, I guess I spend too much time on the computer!

ONE OF MY BEST GIFTS EVER! (TEENS 4)

Standard

My Teens 4 students were telling me about their favorite gifts

and what they would like to get on their next birthday.

They also asked me about the best gift I’ve ever gotten…

Hard to say, huh?!

So, I decided to tell them not about the best one,

but something cute I got last July when I traveled to Lisbon.

A Portuguese friend, whose name is João Miguel,

gave me a silver necklace with a cute pendant in the shape of a fish.

Miguel used to call me “peixinho” (little fish)

 – not because I can swim very well, but due to the last flood we had in Rio in April.

Ok… I found it a little sarcastic but I enjoyed it anyway! 🙂

And you, guys?!

Now it’s your turn to tell me about a nice gift you’ve received.
